This community-centered Hinamatsuri event displays hina dolls from the late Edo period through modern times in shops along the Iwagasaki shopping street in Kurihara City's Kurikoma district. In addition to dolls passed down through merchant families, the beautifully handmade hanging ornaments dyed with indigo (aizome) and plant-based dyes (kusakizome) are remarkable for their delicate beauty. Visitors can freely browse the displays during shop hours while strolling the street, appreciating how the dolls from each era reflect the customs and values of their time. The warm interactions with local residents add a special charm to this intimate event.
