A hinamatsuri in the castle town of Chofu in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi. Hina dolls, hanging decorations, and unique 'Kofuku-bina' (happiness dolls) are displayed at historic sites including the Chofu Mori Residence and Chofu Garden, as well as local shops. Visitors can explore these displays while strolling through the atmospheric townscape. Chofu prospered as the castle town of the Chofu Domain, a sub-domain of the Choshu Domain, and retains its character with samurai residences and earthen walls. A paid stamp rally with prize drawings is also available.

About 20 minutes by bus from JR Shimonoseki Station to 'Municipal Art Museum Mae' or 'Castle Town Chofu' stop, then 1 minute walk. About 25 minutes by car from Shimonoseki IC on the Chugoku Expressway
