Venue: Sairi Yashiki Folk Museum
Feb 3 – Mar 29, 2026
Sairi Yashiki is a folk museum housed in the estate and storehouses of the Saito Risuke family, wealthy merchants who prospered for seven generations from the late Edo through early Showa periods, operating businesses ranging from kimono fabric sales to miso and soy sauce brewing. During the Hinamatsuri season, traditional hina displays and hanging ornaments (tsurushi-kazari) are exhibited within the storehouses' dignified atmosphere, creating a space that evokes the prosperity of the merchant era. The dolls illuminated in the characteristic dim lighting of the storehouses possess a special charm. Marumori Town, set along the Abukuma River, offers beautiful natural scenery that complements a visit to the museum.
