Venue: Yamanobe Town Furusato Museum and Community Center
Mar 1 – 29, 2026
The Yamanobe Hina Doll Exhibition is an annual spring event in Yamanobe, Higashimurayama District, Yamagata. Precious period hina dolls dating back to the Kan'ei era (1624-1644) are displayed in the storehouse parlor of the Furusato Museum, built on the grounds of the Sato Seigorou family who prospered through safflower and ramie trade during the Edo period. The adjacent Community Center exhibits Meiji-era hina dolls and traditional temari balls, offering insight into the rich hina culture passed down through Yamanobe. This celebration marks the arrival of spring through the region's traditional hina heritage.
