Mochigase Nagashi-bina is a traditional event designated as a Tottori Prefecture Intangible Folk Cultural Property, held on the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month. Pairs of paper hina dolls are placed on straw trays (sandawara) with peach branches, camellia flowers, and rapeseed blossoms, then floated down the Sendai River as prayers for good health. The Nagashi-bina Hall permanently displays approximately 1,000 hina dolls from the Edo period to present and offers hands-on nagashi-bina making. Just a 5-minute walk from JR Mochigase Station, it is beloved as a quintessential spring tradition of Tottori.
