Venue: Keio Plaza Hotel Lobby
Feb 1 – Late Mar, 2026
The Keio Plaza Hotel in Shinjuku celebrates its 25th year of displaying approximately 5,000 genuine silk hand-sewn hanging ornaments in its lobby, making this an established early-spring tradition. Suspended in a space measuring 3 meters high, 2.4 meters wide, and 6.8 meters deep, the ornaments create a stunning display of auspicious motifs wishing for children's healthy growth. The 2026 edition features a special 'folding screen' (byobu) theme with live calligraphy performances, koto (Japanese harp) lobby concerts, and karakuri byobu (mechanical screen) making workshops. Free to view and supremely accessible in central Shinjuku.
