Yasugi Hina Meguri is a traditional Hinamatsuri event held in early April following the lunar calendar in Yasugi City, Shimane Prefecture. In the Hirose, Nunobe, and Mori districts, families bring out their stored hina decorations and display them all at once—a unique local custom. Many Meiji-era hina decorations have been preserved, allowing visitors to compare historical and modern styles. The Hirose district displays run March 29-30, while the Mori district extends through April 1. On March 30, a special "hina nagashi" (doll floating) ceremony is held on the Iinashi River near the Hirose Kasuri Center, creating a magical scene as paper dolls are set adrift. Strolling through the historic streets of Hirose, a former castle town of the Amago clan, while viewing hina displays is a truly special experience.
