Now in its 27th year, the Nakayama Ohinamatsuri features seven-tier displays and hanging dolls at approximately 70 locations from Keisei Nakayama Station to Hokkekyo-ji Temple, making it a true community-wide celebration. At Hokkekyo-ji, a head temple of Nichiren Buddhism, visitors can admire palace-style dolls modeled after the Kyoto Imperial Palace and precious Meiji-era displays. The event offers numerous activities including free amazake (sweet sake) and oshiruko (sweet bean soup), kamishibai (paper theater), guided hina tours, Hinamatsuri concerts, and a popular kimono-wearing hina tour. The warm, friendly downtown atmosphere makes this an inviting event for all.
