Minami-Ichihara Hina Matsuri

This spring tradition in southern Ichihara features hina dolls displayed on the 52 stone steps of Takataki Shrine's approach. The evening illuminations on February 21, 22, and 28 (17:00-19:00) are particularly magical, with dolls glowing against the darkness on the stone steps creating a breathtaking sight. Beyond Takataki Shrine, displays can be found at Ushiku Shopping Street, the former Heisan Elementary School community space, Uchida Mirai Gakko, Tsurumai Terrace, and various stations along the Kominato Railway. Touring the venues while enjoying the retro railway cars and rural landscapes of the Kominato Railway is highly recommended.
