Mar 6 – Mar 15, 2026
In the Aikawa district, which once flourished as a gold mining town, approximately 50 locations including private homes, shops, and hotels open their doors to display hina dolls and related items passed down through generations. Reflecting the wealth brought by the gold mines, many of the dolls are of high quality, including rare Edo-period goten-bina (palace dolls) and Kyoho-bina. Each venue offers local hospitality events, and visitors can enjoy exploring Sado's historic streets. The festival showcases the cultural heritage of the Sado Gold Mine, nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
