Venue: Former merchant district of Murakami City (approx. 60 merchant houses and private homes)
Mar 1 – Apr 3, 2026
In the former merchant district of the castle town of Murakami, approximately 60 merchant houses and private homes open their doors to display around 4,000 dolls — a rare event even by national standards. Visitors can see hina dolls treasured for generations, including Kyoho-bina and kokin-bina from the Edo period and Meiji-Taisho palace-style displays. A unique highlight is the opportunity to enter private homes normally closed to the public, where homeowners sometimes provide personal explanations. A 100-yen circulating bus makes it easy to cover the wide area efficiently.
