Hina dolls at 40 locations with a walking tour map
Shinmachi Hinamatsuri is a community-centered hina festival held annually in the Shinmachi area of Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture. Celebrating its 20th edition in 2026, the event features charming hina dolls displayed at approximately 40 locations, including the main venue "Shinmachi Anzaisho" (a historic building where Emperor Meiji rested during his Imperial visit), local shops, restaurants, the Shinmachi Commerce Association, library, and branch office. Visitors can pick up a "Hina Meguri Map" and enjoy strolling through the old Nakasendo post town of Shinmachi while viewing the diverse doll displays. Sunday bazaars are held at the main Anzaisho Park venue throughout the event period, with a special music concert on the final day. It is a heartwarming hinamatsuri that embodies the history and traditions of Shinmachi.
