Paper koinobori swimming in the crystal-clear 'Niyodo Blue' river
The Niyodogawa Paper Koinobori event in Ino Town, Kochi features about 300 koinobori made from nonwoven fabric using local Tosa washi paper-making traditions. They swim in the Niyodogawa River, renowned for Japan's clearest water known as 'Niyodo Blue.' The sight of colorful paper koinobori in the crystal-clear stream is truly one-of-a-kind. A furusato market is held at Namikawa Park, with free shuttle buses from JR Ino Station.
