Matsue Chrysanthemum Exhibition

Co-hosted by the City of Matsue and the Matsue Chrysanthemum Society, this exhibition is held every year from early to mid November at the Umadamari Plaza inside Matsue Castle Park. Around 500 pots from roughly 50 exhibitors fill the venue across ten categories, including large chrysanthemums, fukusuke varieties and bonsai-style entries, with students from the local Matsue Agricultural and Forestry High School also contributing works. Admission is free, and the castle park setting, overlooking the national-treasure keep of Matsue Castle, draws many visitors during the autumn foliage season as well. Visitors are advised to confirm the exact dates and venue details with the Matsue City Cultural Promotion Division beforehand.
