49th Hyogo Prefectural Federated Chrysanthemum Exhibition

The Hyogo Prefectural Flower Center in Kasai is a 35-hectare flower park growing some 4,500 kinds of plants through the seasons. Its autumn fixture is the Hyogo Prefectural Federated Chrysanthemum Exhibition, in 2026 the 49th, running about a month from 18 October to 22 November. Growers' societies from across the prefecture bring three-stem large-flowered specimens, spider chrysanthemums whose petals extend into tubes, fukusuke plants kept low so as to carry an outsized bloom, and bonsai-style plants trained at the trunk. Each training tradition is judged by its own standards, and following those differences is much of the interest. The display centres on the Yuai Path and the flower beds before the windmill, laid out so visitors can follow it along the garden's walkways. The park normally closes on Wednesdays, but stays open every day through the chrysanthemum exhibition. Admission is free for high school students and younger.
