Takaoka Flower and Greenery Exhibition (Takaoka Chrysanthemum Show)

Takaoka Otogi-no-Mori Park is a civic park about 15 minutes on foot from Shin-Takaoka Station, loved by families for its recreation of the vacant lot from the Doraemon comics, its large play equipment and the Otogi-no-Mori Hall with its conservatory. The Takaoka Flower and Greenery Exhibition held here each autumn, better known as the Takaoka Chrysanthemum Show, fills the hall's Flower Room with large and small blooms raised by members of the Takaoka chrysanthemum society, and a sales corner lets visitors take home a plant they like. The park's schedule of events for fiscal 2026 lists the show from 10 to 13 November, a little later than the early-November dates of past years. Entry to the park and hall and parking are all free. The hall normally closes on Tuesdays, and in 2026 the opening day falls on a Tuesday, so check the park's official website for the latest notice, including opening hours, before visiting. The park is about a 15-minute walk from Shin-Takaoka Station or 20 minutes from Futatsuka Station on the JR Johana Line, with free parking for about 400 cars.
