Large-flowered and cascade-style chrysanthemums donated from across Japan
Yasukuni Shrine enshrines the spirits of over 2.46 million people who gave their lives in service to the nation, including those who died amid the turmoil from the late Edo period through the Meiji Restoration. Each autumn, the shrine holds its 'Dedicated Chrysanthemum Exhibition,' displaying chrysanthemums donated by enthusiasts from across the country, including large blooms and cascade-style arrangements that visitors can freely view. The exhibition runs from late October through early November, overlapping with the shrine's Autumn Grand Festival, and together with the dedicatory performances at the Noh theater, it colors the autumn at Yasukuni Shrine.
