Santepark Tahara (Sante Dome)
Tahara, AichiChubu
A prestigious show with a Prime Minister's Award, featuring children's chrysanthemum works, an ikebana display, and a wind orchestra performance
Organized by the Atsumi Peninsula Chrysanthemum Festival Executive Committee (within the Atsumi Peninsula Tourism Bureau), this long-running show promotes the peninsula's electric-lit chrysanthemums and has even earned entries the Prime Minister's Award and the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries' Award. At the Sante Dome inside Santepark Tahara, visitors can see chrysanthemum works lovingly grown by local elementary and junior-high students and nursery/kindergarten children, plus a koto performance, an ikebana exhibition, and a concert by the Tahara City Wind Orchestra. A chrysanthemum fan club is also recruiting members, no experience required. Note that Santepark is currently under renovation, so check the facility's notice before visiting.
