Venue: Tsuchiura Machikado Kura 'Daitoku' and 'Nomura' storehouses and surrounding shopping streets
Feb 4 – Mar 3, 2026
The 21st Tsuchiura Hinamatsuri is held around the Nakajo-dori area, lined with nationally registered cultural property merchant houses and storehouses. Centered on the Machikado Kura storehouses 'Daitoku' and 'Nomura,' the exhibition features diverse hina dolls spanning from the Edo through Heisei periods, offering visitors the unique pleasure of tracing centuries of doll evolution. Visitors can try hanakoma (tsumami-zaiku fabric art) workshops to experience traditional crafts. Related exhibitions at the museum and Kamitakatsu Shell Mound History Park extend the Hinamatsuri atmosphere throughout the city.
