Aya Hinayama Matsuri

This festival showcases the unique 'hinayama' culture of Aya Town, surrounded by evergreen broadleaf forests. 'Hinayama' is a distinctive local tradition of recreating mountain landscapes indoors using natural flowers, moss, and old wood, with hina displays arranged within. Reflecting the life of Aya Town in harmony with its laurel forests, approximately 20 individually crafted hinayama are exhibited. A stamp rally, Instagram photo contest, and children's procession (chigo gyoretsu) add to the festivities. This is a rare opportunity to experience the fusion of nature and hina culture found nowhere else in Japan.
