Hina dolls displayed across a Wakasa seaside town
A Wakasa-region hinamatsuri in Takahama, Fukui. Approximately 90 shops and private homes throughout the Honmachi-Nakamachi district display their prized hina dolls, including rare specimens from the Meiji era. Takahama Cultural Hall features an impressive display of five seven-tiered hina sets, while Takahama Community Center showcases hanging hina (tsurushi-bina) decorations. On February 23, a special 'Hina Procession' event and 'Hakoniwa Market' are also held. With stamp rallies and more, this event adds color to spring in the Wakasa region.
