Hinamatsuri in historic earthen-walled warehouses
The Yamachosuji Hinamatsuri takes place in the Important Preservation District of Historic Buildings along Yamachosuji street in Takaoka, Toyama. The earthen-walled warehouses rebuilt after the great fire of the Meiji era transform into a town gallery of hina dolls, with precious Meiji, Taisho, and Showa-era hina dolls on display at historic buildings including the Sugano and Ikadai residences. The hina dolls displayed within the dignified earthen-walled spaces create a special atmosphere, and visitors can also experience the castle town's history alongside Takaoka's traditional copperware and lacquerware culture.
