About This Event

Kyu Kurauchi-tei Hina-dzukushi is a hina festival held at the nationally designated scenic site "Kyu Kurauchi-tei" in Chikujo Town, Fukuoka Prefecture. This grand mansion, built from the Meiji to Taisho periods by the Kurauchi family who made their fortune in Chikuho coal mines, showcases a diverse array of hina dolls including tiered displays, palace-style hina, sagemon hanging decorations, ceramic dolls, and embroidered dolls. The 2026 edition features bunraku puppets at the entrance and Mataro dolls in the grand hall, along with precious items connected to the Kurauchi family. Visitors can enjoy matcha tea and hina-themed Japanese sweets (300 yen) while viewing the nationally designated gardens. It is a chance to experience an elegant Hinamatsuri in a historic mansion surrounded by beautiful gardens.
