Tatsuno Hina Matsuri

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, this festival takes place in the castle town of Tatsuno, designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. Over 60 townhouses and shops in this soy sauce-producing town display hina dolls from the Edo period to modern times. The Tatsuno Historical and Cultural Museum hosts a special exhibition. On March 20, the 'Tatsuno Hina Nagashi' ceremony releases dolls into the Ibo River from Gion Park. Nearby attractions include the Usukuchi Tatsuno Soy Sauce Museum and Kasumijo-kan.
