Tanabata "Rosoku-morai" at the Historical Village of Hokkaido

Atsubetsu-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido

Venue: Historical Village of Hokkaido

Aug 7, 2026

The Historical Village of Hokkaido is an open-air museum of relocated and restored Meiji-Taisho buildings that recreates seasonal traditions year-round. On August 7, the month-delayed Tanabata, it holds a program letting families experience Hokkaido's distinctive "Rosoku-morai" custom: after making Tanabata decorations, participants walk through the historic houses, singing to receive candy and candles. Set among retro streetscapes, it is a popular reservation-based program for families with children.
