Apr 20 – May 11, 2026
Held every spring at Sakuranuma Park in Gonohe Town, Aomori, this koinobori display is organized by the 'Sakuranuma Preservation Society', a volunteer group that hangs carp streamers of various sizes to wish for the healthy growth of local children. The park, known for its Thirty-Three Kannon stone statues and tranquil pond, offers a beautiful contrast between the colorful streamers, the pond's reflections, and the fresh spring greenery. It is promoted by Gonohe Tourism Association as a drive-stop attraction, and visitors can also enjoy wildflowers and the Kannon statue pilgrimage nearby.
