Miyoshi dolls and hina dolls craft exhibition

About This Event

The Fudoki no Oka Gallery exhibition 'Miyoshi Dolls and Hina Dolls' is held at the Miyoshi Fudoki no Oka Museum in Miyoshi, Hiroshima. It showcases Miyoshi dolls (clay figures) designated as Hiroshima Prefecture Intangible Cultural Properties with over 160 years of history, alongside traditional hina dolls, introducing local craft traditions and hina culture. Miyoshi dolls are rooted in the northern Hiroshima custom of gifting clay figures for a child's first seasonal festival, and are characterized by their rustic yet powerful forms. The expansive 30-hectare grounds also feature ancient burial mounds, making it possible to combine the exhibition with a historical walk.
