Hina dolls in a nationally registered cultural property

About This Event

The Kojokaku Hinamatsuri Exhibition is held annually at Kojokaku (Former Izumiyama Residence), a modern Japanese-style mansion built from the Meiji 30s (around 1897) through the Taisho period. Registered as a nationally tangible cultural property in 2003, this historic building provides an elegant setting for displaying beautiful hina dolls and tsurushi-kazari (hanging decorations) donated by local residents. The collection showcases the beauty of Japanese traditional culture across different eras. Workshops are also held during the event period, making it enjoyable for visitors of all ages. As a beloved harbinger of spring in Hachinohe, the exhibition is a popular seasonal event following the famous Hachinohe Enburi festival.
