Rare Taisho-era palace display
Approximately 700 hina dolls are displayed at the Former Matsuya Inn, a venue on the Matsubara-juku — one of 25 post stations along the Nagasaki Highway. This blacksmith town, which prospered as a crossroads of land and sea routes, carries the history of the Nagasaki Highway where foreign cultures intermingled. A rare Taisho-era palace-style display is a particular highlight, allowing visitors to trace the evolution of hina dolls through the ages. Open on weekends only with free admission, it is a casual spring outing.
