A 'Milky Way' of light and sound from 3,000 wind chimes
A summer 'cool-evening' event at Miyajidake Shrine in Fukutsu, famous for its 'Path of Light.' About 3,000 wind chimes and lights are hung along the approach to the inner shrine, expressing the 'Milky Way' through sound and light. After sunset the path is illuminated, wrapping visitors in a mystical atmosphere accompanied by the cool tones of the chimes. Colorful Tanabata decorations adorn the main hall, the tower gate, and the inner Fudo shrine, and original wish-strips are provided beside the gate for visitors to write and offer their wishes—a summer staple blending chimes, Tanabata decor, and illumination. In 2026 it is held as the 'Hikari no Oto Furin Festival' mainly along the rear approach, with illumination from 20:00 to 22:00 and a night market on Fridays through Sundays.
