Usa Sora-no-Sato Tanabata Decorations

A Tanabata display held at 'Usa Sora-no-Sato,' a history and peace-learning facility on the site associated with the former Usa Naval Air Group. Visitors write wishes and tie them to bamboo, adding seasonal color to a place of wartime remembrance. On opening day, local preschoolers decorate the bamboo and perform a choral song. Running from late June to July 7, it offers a quiet way to reflect on Usa's history while making a wish for peace. Visited together with the air group's historical exhibits, it becomes a place of learning and prayer that renews appreciation for the preciousness of peace.
