Kitakami Tenshochi in Iwate Prefecture is one of the 'Three Great Cherry Blossom Spots of Michinoku,' alongside Hirosaki and Kakunodate. During the annual cherry blossom festival, approximately 300 koinobori are displayed above the Kitakami River, creating a spectacular collaboration with the cherry blossoms along the 2km tree-lined avenue. Horse-drawn carriages add a nostalgic touch to the scene.
