Yame Bonbori Matsuri

In Yame City, known as a hina doll production center, approximately 100 locations around the white-walled townscape and central shopping streets display hina dolls. Pink 'bonbori' lanterns cast a magical glow over the streets, creating a romantic atmosphere at dusk. Yame is also the birthplace of 'hako-bina' (box dolls), and many of these compact regional specialties are on display. Markets, toy fireworks viewing events, and other diverse activities are held during the festival, showcasing Yame's traditional crafts and hina culture.
