Magical evening illumination and handmade decorations on the shrine grounds

About This Event

Held every year since 2022 at Sengen Shrine in Katayama, Sano City. Bamboo and handmade Tanabata decorations cover the grounds and are illuminated from sunset until around 10 p.m., creating a magical atmosphere. Visitors can write wishes on strips and tie them to bamboo, and on July 7 events include a free 'lucky wooden plaque making' for children, balloon art, and gifts of the shrine's original strawberry gelato. Known for blessings of fertility, safe childbirth and family harmony, it draws many visitors, especially women praying for love to come true.
