Sobun Spring Koinobori Festival

An annual koinobori event held around Children's Day at Mie Prefectural Culture Center 'Sobun' in Tsu City. Colorful carp streamers adorn the Festival Plaza and Knowledge Plaza, and decorations extend into the indoor entrance passage. In 2026 the event runs from May 1 (Fri) to May 17 (Sun), including a joint quiz rally with the adjoining Mie Prefectural Museum (MieMu) — visitors who tour both facilities and answer the quiz correctly receive prizes at each site. A popular family destination at one of Mie's main cultural and learning hubs, and a great Golden Week outing.
