About This Event
An annual koinobori event since 2010 along the Kumasaki River in Usuki City, Oita, organized by the local Sumire Nursery. A spectacular lineup of 555 small koinobori stretches about 1km along the "Hydrangea Road" riverside promenade. A heartwarming initiative wishing for children's healthy growth, easily enjoyed during a walk. In early summer, the combination with hydrangeas adds seasonal beauty.
