Hinamatsuri in the Edo-era post town of Unno-juku

About This Event

The Unno-juku Hinamatsuri is a community revitalization event that began in 2015 at the historic post town of Unno-juku in Tomi, Nagano. Hina dolls are displayed behind the characteristic latticed wooden doors of homes along the Edo-period streetscape of this former Hokkoku Kaido post station. Evening illumination creates a magical atmosphere as the hina dolls emerge vividly through the latticed doors. Offering different expressions by day and night, the Unno-juku Hinamatsuri captivates visitors with its unique beauty.
