An indoor Tanabata bamboo display themed on stars and the Milky Way
A yearly Tanabata display at the Kagoshima City Science Hall. Large bamboo decorated with wish strips and streamers is set up inside, and visitors can write and hang their own wishes. Fitting for a museum known for its planetarium and astronomy exhibits, it lets families enjoy a Tanabata world themed on stars and the Milky Way. Being indoors, it can be enjoyed regardless of weather, making it a popular family outing before the summer holidays. Viewing requires standard exhibition admission, and it runs roughly from early June to early July—combining Tanabata wishes with astronomy in a science-museum setting.
