Numazu Nakamise Tanabata Festival

Held each summer in the Nakamise shopping arcade just south of Numazu Station in Shizuoka, this Tanabata festival is staged in a covered arcade where huge, vividly colored decorations crafted by the shopping street fill the space overhead, earning a reputation as a must-see. During the festival, shops hold sales alongside the Tanabata decorations, with various events and stalls drawing shoppers and families. With excellent access just two minutes from Numazu Station, it is cherished by locals as a summer pleasure around the end of the rainy season.
