Fuchi Rokusho Sengen Shrine
Fuji, ShizuokaChubu
Over 2,000 wind chimes lining the approach, illuminated at night
Held during the summer at Fuchi Rokusho Sengen Shrine in Asama-honcho, Fuji City, Shizuoka, this Tanabata wind chime festival lines the approach before the main hall with more than 2,000 colorful chimes bearing wish strips, whose cool tones fill the grounds whenever the wind blows. By day the chimes sparkle in the sunlight, and by night illumination creates a magical, beautiful scene, offering different faces between day and evening. Affectionately known locally as Mikkaichi Sengen Shrine, it draws many worshippers seeking summer visits and limited Tanabata goshuin seals.
