Held on a Saturday in early July along the Aifuru 316 arcade of Takehara, known as a 'little Kyoto of Aki,' the arcade is decked with bamboo, colorful Tanabata ornaments and streamers. Local children's dance, taiko drumming, Takehara Ondo and Momoneko Ondo, and a bingo tournament fill the stage, while about 30 food stalls, game corners and a beer garden draw families and yukata-clad youngsters.
