Dogo Onsen Bekkan Asuka-no-Yu & Dogo Shopping Arcade
Matsuyama, EhimeShikoku
A corridor of about 100 wind chimes and blue light-ups
A Tanabata decoration event held at Dogo Onsen's annex bathhouse Asuka-no-Yu and throughout the Dogo shopping arcade in Matsuyama, Ehime. Seventy-seven tanzaku strips inscribed with Tanabata poems from the Manyoshu adorn the courtyard and corridors, while a 'corridor of wind chimes' featuring about 100 chimes and a Milky Way-themed bench create a refreshing summer atmosphere. At night the camellia grove is lit up in blue and wooden lanterns add a fantastical glow. The Dogo arcade is also decorated with bamboo and streamers, drawing visitors strolling in yukata. Guests in kimono or yukata receive an original paper fan.
