Furusato no Kawa Park (Aridagawa Riverside)
Arida, WakayamaKansai
150 koinobori gracefully swimming over the Aridagawa riverside
Held every spring along the Aridagawa River at Furusato no Kawa Park in Arida City, Wakayama. Launched in 1998 to promote the river and the park, the event mounts about 150 carp streamers on 55 poles, letting them glide elegantly in the spring breeze. The view combines the river that flows into Kii Channel with the tangerine terraces characteristic of Arida, making it a popular photo spot. The park also offers lawn areas and tennis courts, providing a relaxing space for families. Streamers may be taken down in rain or strong wind.
