Since 1985, about 100 koinobori have been displayed crossing the 110m-wide Niukawa River in Kudoyama Town, Wakayama. Located at the foot of World Heritage Koyasan and associated with samurai Sanada Yukimura, the town provides a historic setting. Some koinobori are handmade by local students, adding a warm community touch. A recommended stop when visiting Koyasan.
