The Murasakigawa Koinobori Festival in Kokura-Minami-ku, Kitakyushu has been held annually since 2006. About 600 koinobori donated by citizens are displayed near Sakura Bridge, with local elementary students participating in the raising ceremony. An 8-minute walk from Kitakyushu Monorail's Tokuriki-Arashiyamaguchi Station, visitors can enjoy koinobori along the riverside promenade.
