The Ryujin Great Suspension Bridge in Hitachiota, Ibaraki is a 375m pedestrian bridge that hosts the annual Ryujinkyo Koinobori Festival around Golden Week. About 500 koinobori are displayed in two rows above the Ryujin Dam lake, with another 500 around the bridge area, coloring the fresh green gorge. On Children's Day (May 5), bridge crossing is free for junior high school students and younger.
