Tone River Riverside Green Park
Kazo, SaitamaKanto
The world's largest koinobori (100m) swimming in the sky
Held annually on May 3 in Kazo City, Saitama, the highlight is the Jumbo Koinobori—a 100m-long, 330kg giant carp streamer lifted by crane to fly above the Tone River. The eyes and mouth ring alone measure 10m. The koinobori is flown twice daily (morning and afternoon), complemented by peace ceremonies, stage events, and food stalls. Kazo City is known as the 'City of Koinobori' and is famous for handcrafted carp streamers.
