Held since 1972, the Omiya Nisshin Tanabata Festival is a tradition representing the Nisshin area of Kita Ward, Saitama City, reaching its 54th edition on August 6-7, 2026. Around Nisshin Tanabata-dori by the south exit of Nisshin Station and at Nisshin Elementary School, beautiful colorful decorations carrying local wishes adorn the streets. Lined with many food stalls and featuring stage events and children's activities, it is a community-driven, handmade festival enjoyed by families as part of the wider Omiya Summer Festival.
