Kawaguchi Tanabata Festival

The Kawaguchi Tanabata Festival is a signature summer tradition held along the shopping streets around JR Kawaguchi Station in Kawaguchi, Saitama. The 65th edition runs for five days from July 3-7, 2026, when the station-front arcades are hung with vibrant handmade decorations and streamers made by shops and residents, filling the streets with Tanabata atmosphere. Lively stalls line the route, drawing crowds shopping and snacking. A community-rooted festival long handed down in the central district of the casting town of Kawaguchi, it is an accessible summer event for families and commuters alike.
