Hosted by Tottori, which promotes itself as the 'Star-Catching Prefecture' for having Japan's clearest night skies, this Tanabata event takes place in the courtyard of the Torigin Bunka Kaikan in Tottori City. From evening, music and calligraphy performances unfold on stage, and after sunset a stargazing session lets visitors enjoy Tottori's beautiful skies. Food trucks line the venue and there are capsule-toy prizes such as local Hoshizora-mai rice.
